Community Development and Small Businesses State-wide Tours
The Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business, on which I sit, was in Worcester this month as part of the Chairs’ statewide tour. It was a pleasure to spend time with Joint Committee Senate Chair, Pavel Payano, and First Worcester Senator, Senator Robyn Kennedy, along with the owner of Theatre Cafe, Bill Aldrich.
I am overjoyed to announce that my lobbying efforts have paid off and First Middlesex has been added to the roster for a visit! Thanks to collaborative work and advocacy, the First Middlesex District is back on the map at Beacon Hill.
Highlights of my recent efforts to showcase the First Middlesex include:
Statewide Tour Inclusion: Making sure the First Middlesex District is part of the Joint Committee on Community Development and Small Business' statewide tour.
Rural Affairs Initiatives: Bringing our new Rural Affairs Director, Anne Gobi, to tour all six towns in the district.
Tourism Promotion: Securing the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, Kate Fox, to speak at Groton’s first-ever regional tourism conference.
Infrastructure and Wildlife Projects: Building close relationships with the MA Department of Transportation as well as MA Fisheries and Wildlife to advance key district projects.
Sincerely,
Margaret
